‘Karun’ will compete for four of the main awards of the event - the Grand Prize in the Spirit of Faith, the Best Documentary Award, International Jury Award, and In the Spirit of Dolomites Award.
Directed by Mohammad Ehsani, the doc focuses on the environmental challenges that Karun River faces. It also shows the historical and cultural background of the river.
The 52-minute documentary contended at several international film festivals, including Zaragoza Int’l Film Festival in Spain, Int’l Ecological Festival “To Save and Preserve” in Russia and Red Island Int’l Film Festival in the US.
Since 1997, Religion Today has been dedicated to promote a culture of peace and dialogue between people.
The festival provides audience with a platform to watch different cultures, ideas and religious practices and beliefs.
The event is set to be held on September 23-30, 2020.
